Mike Zimmer couldn't have asked for a more perfect second debut!

Throughout last season, the Dallas Cowboys were dogged by the narrative that they couldn’t win big games on the road. While critics are always quick to emerge when things go south, Dallas silenced them on Sunday with a commanding 33-17 win over the Cleveland Browns.

Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and Ezekiel Elliott lit up the first half, but the offense struggled to find its rhythm in the second. To be fair, the play-calling became more conservative as the Cowboys built a sizable lead. However, Mike Zimmer’s defense was outstanding from start to finish.

The Browns were held to just 10 points before tacking on a garbage-time touchdown in the final minute. Micah Parsons was a force, recording a sack, deflecting a pass that led to an interception, and nearly hitting double-digit pressures.

Though Parsons wreaked havoc in the second quarter as the Cowboys asserted their dominance on the road, the biggest takeaway was Mike Zimmer’s defense leaving Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson looking lost.

It’s only one game, but Cleveland fans have already seen enough of Watson. By the end of the second quarter, the boos were raining down at Huntington Bank Field!
