Zombie Actress Carla Jeffery Dies Tragically at 33

Disney star Carla Jeffery has died at the age of 33, according to a statement posted to her official Instagram account by her talent management company.

Jeffery was best known for her role in Disney’s Zombies franchise.

“It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Carla Jeffery, who passed away on September 1, 2026, at just 33 years old,” Carla Alexander of Alexander’s Talent Management said in the statement.

Alexander continued, saying Jeffery joined Alexander’s Talent Management at just 12 years old and remained with the company for more than two decades.

“For more than 20 years, we had the privilege of watching her grow into a beautiful, vibrant, and incredibly talented woman whose radiant smile could light up any room,” Alexander said.

She added that Jeffery was “more than a client; she was family.”

“Our hearts are with Carla’s family and loved ones during this devastating time,” Alexander continued. “We respectfully ask that their privacy be honoured as they grieve this unimaginable loss. Rest beautifully, Carla. Your light will never be forgotten.”

ABC News has contacted Jeffery’s representative for comment. No details surrounding the actress’ death have been disclosed.

Disney Entertainment Television also released a statement mourning Jeffery’s passing.

“Carla Jeffery’s extraordinary talent, warmth and spirit left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of working with her. She had a rare gift for connecting with audiences, and her performances brought joy to millions,” the company said. “We will remember Carla for her generosity, her humour, and the genuine light she brought to those around her. We offer our deepest condolences to her family and loved ones, her castmates and collaborators, and the countless fans whose lives she touched.”

News of Jeffery’s death prompted an outpouring of shock and grief from Hollywood and beyond, with fellow Disney stars and fans taking to the comments section of the announcement to share their memories and condolences.

Her Zombies co-star Milo Manheim expressed his heartbreak in a comment, writing, “Carla. The sweetest person I have ever met. I love you.”

Chandler Kinney, who appeared alongside Jeffery in Zombies 2 and Zombies 3, also shared an emotional tribute.

“The brightest shining light in any room she walked into. The kindest person you'd ever meet. The most beautiful soul. "This doesn't feel real….. 💔” Kinney wrote.

Born on July 10, 1993, in Houston, Texas, Jeffery made her film debut in the 2006 movie Phat Girlz.

She later appeared on Nickelodeon’s iCarly in 2008 and portrayed Keysha Black on the television series Curb Your Enthusiasm.

In 2011, Jeffery joined the cast of Disney Channel’s Good Luck Charlie, followed by an appearance on Shake It Up the following year.

She continued building her acting career with roles in several television shows, including Scream Queens and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, before landing her breakout role as Bree in Disney’s Zombies in 2018.

Jeffery reprised the role in Zombies 2 and Zombies 3. She also voiced Bree in several Zombies animated shorts.
