Barron Trump, the youngest child of Donald Trump, is poised to step into the political spotlight with a role at the upcoming Republican National Convention (RNC) in July.

Delegates from all corners of the US will convene in Milwaukee to officially nominate the party's presidential candidate, widely expected to be Barron's father.

Barron Trump, at 18 years old, is included on the roster of delegates at-large representing Florida, stepping into a more public role than before, previously shielded by his mother, Melania.

He shares the delegate list with other prominent members of the Trump family who have been integral to their father's campaign, including half-siblings Donald Jr, Eric, and Tiffany.

NBC News, which broke the story, reports that several of the former president's close allies also feature on the list.

Florida's party chairman, Evan Power, expressed gratitude for the collaborative effort among grassroots leaders, elected officials, and Trump family members within the Florida delegation.

According to a Trump campaign official speaking to ABC News, Barron, who is set to graduate from high school next week, has shown a keen interest in the nation's political process.

The Republican National Convention (RNC), scheduled for July 15-18 in Milwaukee, will officially confirm Mr. Trump as the Republican candidate for the November presidential election. Mr. Trump's nomination is virtually assured, given his victories in numerous state-level primary contests, including one in Florida, where he resides. The convention will involve delegates from all 50 states and several territories formally voting for their candidate, a process expected to proceed smoothly as Mr. Trump faces no significant challengers.

During the primary campaign, the former president secured 2,037 delegates, significantly surpassing the required 1,215 for nomination. His closest competitor, former UN ambassador Nikki Haley, only managed to secure 97 delegates, winning just two contests in Vermont and Washington DC.

Across the political aisle, President Joe Biden is also poised to secure the Democratic nomination for the 2024 election, setting the stage for America's first presidential rematch in 70 years.

However, during his campaign activities, Mr. Trump is embroiled in multiple legal battles. He faces numerous charges across four separate cases, with his first criminal trial currently ongoing in New York City. He stands accused of falsifying business records, though he vehemently denies any wrongdoing.

The judge has granted him special permission to leave the court proceedings to attend Barron's high school graduation next week.
